This Island Life

This one is kind of a strange story. I was making breakfast one morning last fall, and I reached for a glass to put orange juice in. I was about to pick this one up when I realized there was a bird in it. Yes, inside the house, on the shelf. A live bird.

So I got the camera, and took the glass outside on the porch. Amazingly, the bird sat still for several shots. After I was done I gently laid the glass on its side, and the bird walked out and flew off to a tree with what I thought was great dignity, under the circumstances.
